This result may point toward a family that can manage a complex college planning process, but should still identify the specific drivers of complexity. Is the complexity coming from admissions selectivity, finances, uncertain major direction, family dynamics, student readiness, athletic or talent recruitment, special support needs, or disagreement about goals?
Once the drivers are named, the family can ask whether the available capacity actually fits those needs. A parent who is strong at logistics may be helpful with visits and deadlines, but less helpful with emotional decision-making. A counselor may be useful for application strategy, but less involved in family tradeoffs. Regardless of the support types provided, the process will benefit from a strong sense of student ownership.

Strong support can help the family create a clearer timeline, compare tradeoffs, reduce confusion, and protect the student from carrying the whole process alone. Regarding "Christian" colleges, some families assume that any such college will share the views and values of their local church home. But "Christian" colleges vary widely in theological depth and cultural distinctiveness.
Regarding secular or politically neutral colleges, some families may assume that they are spiritual wastelands. However, Christians often establish or participate in vibrant fellowship groups on such campuses.
